There is much more to experience than just a history lesson. It is a romantic walk through the craft of Irish Whiskey making and also a taste of it at the end. Winked*
We started of with an introductory video called "The Story of Jameson Irish Whiskey". Jameson is sold every where in the world today and it is started here in this small distillery in Bow Street, founded in 1780 by John Jameson. He has a family motto that is "Sine Metu" which means "Without Fear". It is shown on every bottle of Jameson today.
He truly was an entrepreneur and never afraid to embrace change in his quest to make the world's greatest whiskey.
At the very beginning, John Jameson focused on the quality of his whiskey, pursuit the best of everything. One of his philosophies was to get the finest quality ingredients, use the best processes available and above all, take your time.
Afterwards, we were invited to taste 3 different types of whiskey. I think they are Irish, Scottish and American whiskeys. Frankly speaking, I only can differentiate them by the smell but my friend, Clio can do it by the taste. Well, they all have the same taste to me. Bitter. LoL...
To end our tour, we were given a complimentary glass of Jameson. It can be a pure whiskey or a cocktail. For sure, I chose the cocktail and it was surprisingly tasty. It is called the Jameson & Ginger. You can try it yourself ! Below is the recipe for you to make it at home :
Fill a glass with ice.
Pour in a measure of Jameson Whiskey.
Pour in ginger ale to fill to the top.
Squeeze a wedge of lime over the drink and then place into the glass.
Stir and ready to serve. Cheers !
For me, it is a nice place to visit but I still prefer the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. I find it there is more fun and valuable in price. However, every person has it own preferences. I hope you will find this place nice and enjoy.
It is time to turn back in time. Stay tuned.... Wee ~
With Love,
J & C
